Switch up the Valentine’s Day overdose of chocolate and roses with something that has a little more meat to it. Básico’s Love Bites dinner features lamb as the centerpiece of its V-Day celebration. The lamb, from Border Springs shepherd Craig Rogers, will be roasted outside. “He roasts them in a Mediterranean style with different herbs and spices,” says Chris Irving, Básico’s manager. Guests start the evening with Tattinger champagne and oysters on the half shell from Clammer Dave, and the main course will be presented in a family-style feast, equipped with tortillas, local vegetables, and sauces for your Mediterranean-taco making pleasures. Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to Slow Food Charleston.
