Eyeball Art is giving local underground artists the opportunity to shine during Spoleto, a time when they may otherwise be overlooked, at the Locales Art Show, which takes place at a number of venues from June 2-5. On June 2 at 8 p.m. at Jimbo’s Rock Lounge is The Anatomy of Art, where Constantine O’Donald, Erin Eckman, Justin Cammer, Leigh Wells, Phillip Hyman, and Ben Sellars will be creating live, with music from Wawona. The same night at the Meeting Space in Park Circle, local stand-up comedians Jason Groce, Derek Humphrey, and Dusty Slay will perform as Friends With Benefits. On June 3, there’ll be another art exhibit and live music at the Meeting Space. On June 4, you can see art at all the participating venues, like Jimbo’s and the Meeting Space, plus the Mill, the courtyard at Outdoor Outfitters, EVO, and Sesame. And on June 5 at the Meeting Space, Wayang Modern will present Shadows of Culture, a performance of ancient music with shadow puppetry imagery. There’s more to be announced as well, so stay tuned to the event’s Facebook page or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
