Nestled just off Center Street, Lil' Mamas doesn't draw the hordes of tourists and day visitors that Folly's more visible restaurants attract, but it's well known among locals as a fine place on the island for quality, affordable grub. The namesake salad isn't so lil' after all, heaped with Granny Smith apples, blue cheese, and bacon. Try the baked brie in stuffed pastry to start off, and the multitude of design-your-own pizza and sandwich options will guarantee you leave full. The inside dining area is cozy, but on a cool spring evening, pull up to one of the tables out on the open deck and watch the stars slowly take over the night sky. —Stratton Lawrence, Dish (Winter 2010)
