Parents, we know it isn’t easy entertaining your kiddos all day, so give yourselves a break: The Children’s Museum is providing a fun-filled, educational event that lasts longer than an episode of Dora the Explorer. Teaming up with the Association for Library Services To Children, LEGO DUPLO’s nationally traveling event, Read! Play! Build! is stopping in Charleston to fire up some kids and celebrate the dedication of librarians to the country’s youth. LEGO DUPLO launched the project to promote early literacy development and creative exploration skills for kids under the age of five. One of the project’s promoters, Christina Wiesendanger, says, “The mission is to keep kids’ minds active.” Storytellers will read aloud while children are encouraged to play, sing, and of course, build with LEGO DUPLO toys. The pandemonium can be brought home too; just visit to download the Parent Activity Guide that lists ideas on how to keep playing educational.
