Picking the perfect pumpkin is tough. Should you choose based on size? Color? Or are you going to give that funky looking underdog a chance to shine? Since it isn't a decision you can make easily, you might as well give yourself a whole day to figure it out, with some added distractions, at the Legare Farms Pumpkin Patch. This year's patch opens up Oct. 1 and features new kid-friendly activities like the duck race, gem mining, and a cow train. You'll also find your favorites, including the hayride, building your own scarecrow, visits to the animal barn, and more. If getting lost in a 12-acre myrtle maze isn't scary enough, you'll want to head out to the farm on Oct. 21-22, when it gets taken over by ghosts for the Haunted Hayrides and Maze.
