Rett King, a sixth-generation farmer on Edisto, cultivates 114 acres with help from his wife Bonnie and son Jamie, from which they stock their open-air market on Hwy. 174. They are a diversified farm, growing everything from asparagus to zucchini. New this year is grass-fed beef, like hamburger meat and kebabs. They also create and sell magnolia and Christmas wreaths and spin out crab cakes and onion pies from their certified kitchen.
