Rett King, a sixth generation farmer on Edisto, cultivates 114 acres with help from his wife Bonnie and son Jamie, from which they stock their open-air market on Hwy. 174. They are a diversified farm, growing everything from asparagus to zucchini. They also create and sell Magnolia and Christmas wreaths and spin out crab cakes and onion pies from their certified kitchen. This spring, stop in for some home-churned Key lime ice cream and make sure to pick up a jar of their Wadmalaw Sauce, a mustard-based barbecue sauce.
