The Chicken used to be a little delivery outfit up in the 'hood, a real Chucktown original. Now it's a veritable empire with six locations spanning two states. Some of that was luck, much of it was skill, most of it can undoubtedly be chalked up to the signature Kickin' Chicken Sandwich. A raft of fried chicken tenders, bacon, and melted cheese on a soft, toasted bun with a crispy exterior, it comes best with a side of fries and a tall Coke. Of course, other people swear by the famous Ultimate Big Deal (ham, turkey, roast beef, chicken, bacon, swiss cheese) or the "Bobby Fries" topped with ranch dressing, more bacon (for the love of your heart), and melted cheese. It may not be trendy these days to be an emerging chain selling over-the-top dishes that would make a state fair food vendor blush, but do you think we care? Hell no.
