Ever found yourself looking at a piece of art wondering how the hell the artist thought of using Styrofoam cups and old tires to make a Buddha sculpture or why the left eye is missing in a self portrait or the reason behind any crazy artistic choice an artist may make? Well, here’s your chance to get the answers. Redux Studios is running the last in a series of live lectures given by artists from their current exhibit titled Past Presence.
On Thurs. Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. the coffee-cup obsessed Jonathan Brilliant and mixed-media artist Karin Olah will be speaking about everything from their process and growth as artists to their work, past and present. There will be live demonstrations and also time for a little Q&A, and both the exhibit and lecture are free and open to the public. —Preston Bernstein
