Americana rocker and songwriter John Mellencamp and his band bring their No Better Than This tour to the PAC this week, bolstered by a special multimedia presentation. The veteran singer and bandleader scored a series of hits in the 1980s and early ’90s, including “I Need a Lover,” “Ain’t Even Done With the Night,” “Hurts So Good,” “Jack & Diane,” “Crumblin’ Down,” “Pink Houses,” “Small Town,” and “Rain on the Scarecrow,” among many others. Last year, Mellencamp worked with acclaimed producer T Bone Burnett at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis to create the No Better Than This album. The concert is divided into three segments, including an acoustic set, a set with a small combo, and a full-on rock band set. Before the singer and his band hit the stage, they’ll present a screening of It’s About You, a Mellencamp documentary by Kurt and Ian Markus.
