Joel T. Hamilton to issue solo winner

The local songwriter issues a new collection on Shrimp Records

Local songwriter Joel T. Hamilton (of the Working Title, the InLaws) recently finished working on a new solo album. Feels Like We're Gonna Win, which will be available on CD and vinyl in November.

Local indie label Shrimp Records presents an album release show at the Pour House on Sat. Nov. 13. Hamilton recorded most of the tracks at his home studio with Michael Trent on bass and Jack Burg on drums.

"I had a handful of teammates tagging in to fight the good one," Hamilton says. "I've got a wonderful team assembled for the release show. Vinyl is on the way, and compact discs are a sparkle in my eye. I'm going to do a cheap packaging for the thin wallets."

Feels Like We're Gonna Win follows the InLaws' 2009 indie release I Am the Black Woman (offered in bulk-purchased Mexican greeting cards) and Hamilton's stark and stripped-down 2008 collection Officina.
