JB's Smokeshack is a classic Carolina barbecue buffet. You pay at the door, get a styrofoam plate, and help yourself to two steam tables piled high with hickory-smoked pork and chicken and brimming with hash and rice, fried okra, baked beans, and many more barbecue classics. The meat is served unadorned, and you sauce it yourself from a choice of five bottles. The pork is tender and flavorful, but the chicken — rich and juicy and full of great smoke flavor — is the real treat. The juicy, pepper-tinged fried chicken is superb, too.
