Songwriter Jason Mraz’s cheerful lyrics and edgy pop sensibilities might produce radical reactions at the College of Charleston’s Carolina First Arena on Wednesday night. The talented songsmith headlines a concert presented by the Office of Student Life with support from songwriter Robert Francis. Born in Virginia and based in L.A., Mraz has a good thing going. A regular pundit on VH1 specialty shows, he spends most of his time writing, recording, and touring behind fantastically produced hook-laden pop tunes. He plays this week in support of his recent studio album We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, which spawned the chart-topping single “I’m Yours.” He also has a new live album titled Jason Mraz’s Beautiful Mess: Live on Earth. CofC students may purchase advance tickets for $20 (or $25 at the door). Advance tickets for the general public are available for $35. Sales are limited to two tickets per person. —T. Ballard Lesemann
