Jam's Buffalo Cafe opens on James Island

Owner Jeff Haertel previously ran Buffalo South

The new, locally owned Jam’s Buffalo Café opened last week and is ready to get down to business. Located at 792-A Folly Road on James Island, this American-style café has a bevy of good eats to serve.

Open Monday through Saturday, Jam’s Buffalo Café serves salads, wraps, and various other sandwiches. “Our signature dish right now is the beef on weck,” says owner Jeff Haertel, who previously ran Buffalo South for eight years. “All of our items are original recipes made in-house.” Another specialty is the build-your-own burger, which gives diners a half-pound patty to top until their heart’s content.

For lighter fare, sandwich wraps are made with fresh ingredients and can be served on various tortillas like sun-dried tomato, spinach, or roasted garlic. Jam’s appetizers include homemade pimento cheese and fish, steak, or chicken tacos packed with pico de gallo, cabbage, and lime sour cream.

Main dishes come with a side of chips, fruit, or potato salad. Jam’s prices range from $6-$9.
