James Hall sneaks into town for house party

The veteran songwriter plays an intimate set in West Ashley

Veteran songwriter James Hall — singer-guitarist known for his recent rock/pop projects the Futura Bold and the Pleasure Club (as well as for his Atlanta-based, late ’80s/early ’90s rock band Mary My Hope) delivered a special solo performance at private house party in West Ashley on Fri. Nov. 12.

Guitarists Jeff Caldwell (in town from Kauai, Hawaii) and Doug Walters (who helped host the event) joined Hall on several songs during the intimate two and a half hour set. Lit only by a few rows of candles and the light from an old space heater, he touched on most of his solo and band albums and threw in a few exotic surprises as well.
