Introduction to Mezzotint
Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Continues through May 28 2010
Mezzotint is one of the lesser-known and understood intaglio techniques. In this four-week class, students will be taught how to ‘rock plates’ in order to obtain the richest darks in printmaking, then how to use a burnisher to reveal some of the most dramatic lights. No acids or chemicals are used in the creation of the image on the plate. Students are provided with all necessary materials and equipment. A basic understanding of printmaking is necessary.
