See classical piano played with a South American flair this Tuesday when College of Charleston alum Ciro Foderé returns to his alma mater. The Uruguay native will perform pieces by the greats, including Claude Debussy, Isaac Albeniz, Earl Wild, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Foderé has won many prestigious piano prizes and competitions, including the Bartok-Kabatevsky Prokofieff International Competition. Foderé is known locally for an engaging performance style, and has become hugely popular with Charleston audiences, says the International Piano Series’ executive director Chee-Hang See. The pianist studied at CofC on a full scholarship, which obviously was well-deserved.
