Holiday Art Walk Friday 

This Fri. Dec. 4 sees a handful of noteworthy (and free) openings, generally taking place from 5-8 p.m. during the French Quarter Art Walk.

Scoop Studios welcomes Charleston artist Dorothy Netherland and Atlanta-based collage artist John Morse for their show Layers.

Rebekah Jacob Gallery presents The Imagist, Southern Artists Working with Cameras. You'll find video and photography exploring central themes to the South with works from locals Mark Sloan and Michelle Van Parys along with Richard Sexton, Kendall Messick, and Chris Miner.

Sylvan Gallery features Small Works from artists like Dean Mitchell, Dan McCaw, Ken Auster, Joe Bowler, and Karin Jurick.

Ella Richardson Fine Art presents Interior Beauty, Lindsay Goodwin's collection focusing on indoor scenes.

At Carolina Galleries, Margaret M. Peery presents Views of Charleston.

The Charleston Artist Guild Gallery presents Movement and Flow (The Energy of Dance), works by Olli Wendelin.

Farther up the peninsula on Upper King, the new 16 Penny Gallery opens within 52.5 Records, featuring gig posters and original works from local artists.
