Charlotte-area hardcore band Hero's Arrival made their Charleston debut at last weekend's Slave to the Metal Music Weekend at the Oasis on James Island.

Hard-driving and super-tight, with a professionalism belying their young ages, the group soundly rocked the black-clad crowd. Mistress Juliya (Juliya Chernetsky) of FuseTV was in attendance and had words of praise and encouragement for the group, which is zeroing in on a spot on the WarpedTour's Charlotte stage.

Frequently found onstage at Charlotte Underground, the band is headed into ThinkSound Studios next month to record their debut EP. Singer Zac Latham, drummer Kevin Lifsey, guitarist Andy Simmons, and lefty-bassist John Croom cite Devil Wears Prada and August Burns Red as influences.
