Girls Rock Charleston, the local rock music camp for girls and transgender youth, sees so many repeat campers that they’ve decided to change things up a bit. “We wanted to give campers more in-depth opportunities to develop the skills they’ve already learned,” says Girls Rock’s Kim Larson. “We have a week-long workshop track this year where campers will be able to choose from things like DJing, Recording, and Performance.” This Thursday, you can show Girls Rock some love by attending their benefit at Saffron, which will feature awesome live music (of course) by Stefanie Bannister, Steve Tirozzi, and Lily Slay of the Royal Tinfoil and a buffet dinner. There will also be a live and silent auction featuring gift certificates, prizes, and art from the Green Door, Karen Ann Myers, WildFlour, Theatre 99, and more. Guests can also browse a camper art showcase and have fun in a rock-themed photo booth. Proceeds from the night will help Girls Rock Charleston continue to grow.
