Get your culture for free on Museum Day

Drayton, Gibbes, Old Exchange, and Powder Museum opening their doors Sept. 26

On Sat., Sept. 26, museums and historic sites across the country will be taking part in Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day, which offers free admission all day.

The affiliated museums in Charleston are the Gibbes Museum of Art, Drayton Hall, the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon, and the Powder Magazine. If you're open to a road trip, there are many more museums across the state participating in the day. All you need is a Free Museum Day card, which can be found on Smithsonian magazine's website.

This is a great opportunity for families, college students, and cheapskates alike to get a little culture in their lives.
