On Nov. 13, hundreds of pajama-clad runners will meet at the Joe Riley Stadium for the race, which benefits the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center. The event, sponsored by Knology of Charleston, serves to educate locals about cancers below the waist, including prostate, ovarian, testicular, colon, and bladder cancers.
After the race is over, runners will celebrate with a pajama party featuring food, drinks, and awards. Award categories include best costume, fastest runner, and most money raised by both an individual and a team. The organization’s goal for this year is $10,000.
Advance registration is $25 per runner; $35 the day of the race. Students can register for $15, while teams of five or more get a $5 discount. Children 10 and under run for free.
