Rose Freeman’s idyllic roadside stand is situated below a moss-draped live oak on Johns Island, next to her 150 acres of cultivated fields. Expect her to open for business as her crops yield their bounty. Freeman’s produce can be found on-site, at the Mt. Pleasant and Charleston farmers markets, and at the the Summerville and Daniel Island Farmer’s markets. Freeman’s neat and tidy wooden structure is usually open daily and should be brimming with watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, corn, John’s Island tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, cucumbers, and more this spring and summer.
