The Fourth of July is fast approaching. Why not break up this week’s workload with some free fun before the barbecues and fireworks start next week?

Monday Pump up your Monday with some high energy rock and roll from The Broadcast at The Pour House. For some tunes and tacos, go see the V-Tones Trio play mellow jazz at Yo Burrito. 

If you want to start your week off trying something new, head down to Black Fedora Mystery Theater and audition. You will be asked to do cold readings from scripts and to bring a photograph of  yourself. House cast roles are available for ages 18-80 for part-time work.

Tuesday Don’t miss the last of the free concert series at the 3rd Annual Party in the Park where they will have Easton Corbin, Maggie Rose, and Brady Smith performing at the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.

Chick-Fil-A on Folly Road is having Pet Helpers Kids Night. There will be an animal-themed activity, and kids can learn about Charleston’s only no-kill shelter.

Wednesday Peruse through local art while sipping on drink specials at Barsa Tapas Lounge & Bar’s Happy Hour Art Tent Event. Or bring the family to Freshfields Village for their Starlight Cinema showing of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.  Then head over to hear Big Daddy Stallings playing blues, soul, and funk at Night Heron Park in Kiawah. 

Thursday Pinckney’s Produce will have Helena Fox Fine Art and host a meet and greet with Urbie West and his son, Ashby, who are the owners and farmers for Pinckney’s Produce.  Speakers will come to discuss the importance of strengthening our local food community. On the other side of the bridge, hit up the Shelter Kitchen and Bar for EcoSpiel, where you can catch up on the latest information about the Mt. Pleasant Land Conservancy. There  will be complimentary appetizers for outdoor patio mingling. 

Friday Come hear about Hope Rechea’s spiritual journey at A Way 2 Insights. For some live music go to Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ to hear Johnson’s Crossroads sing bluegrass and roots-rock, or Brick House Kitchen to see Louie D Project play jazz, funk, pop, and grooves.

Saturday Stop by the Art Mecca where Mike Moyer will have his opening reception for his exhibit of doors from the past that have been recrafted into home decor.

Sunday Vintage shoppers should flock to Collective Coffee Company for the American Caravan Summer Vintage Sale. You can shop for American Caravan’s sculptures, prints, paintings, home decor, jewelry, postcards, housewares, clothing and more. 7 Wrap up the weekend with singer/songwriter Matt Mackelcan at Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ.
