Rather than just laying low this week because of an empty wallet, hit up some free events around town to keep your spirit singing this week.

Monday Just consider this your little extension of the Charleston Comedy Festival, the laughs are continuing with Dusty Slay performing a free night of stand up at Boone’s Bar. 

Check out the talents of Kiawah and Seabrook islands artists at the Fifth Annual Juried Art Show. This showcase includes scenic oil painting, photography, and handmade jewelry. 

Tuesday You had us at free wine. Bocci’s Italian Restaurant on Church has free tastings of their featured red and white bottles.

After the vino, head on over to Mt. P Kickin’ Chicken’s Open Mic Night and hear what your fellow Charlestonians got. 

Wednesday Cut a rug in celebration of getting over the hump. Charleston’s 1940s-vibed establishment, Prohibition, holds a free swing dance lesson followed appropriately with a dance party. 

The Charleston County Public Library wants to help you get the ball rolling on that idea of yours. SCORE, an organization that aids locals create their own small businesses, will be offering counseling and guidance at this free forum.

Get your zen on with free guided meditation at Bridge to Avalon, one-hour sessions end with a talk back amongst participants.

Striped Pig Distillery is opening its doors to all liquor enthusiasts with a free tour and tastings every Wednesday-Friday from 3-7 p.m.

Thursday King Dusko is compiling the unique brushwork of John Ivory for an exhibit centered around “personal mythology and the general perceptions of love and beauty.” Trippy, man.
