It's a new year, and with it comes resolutions. Saving money is an obvious one, something that we hope to make easier for you with this week's Freeloaders (especially since everyone gives up on their resolution by mid-January anyway).
MONDAY. Kevin Church plays at Henry’s House.
TUESDAY. The Tattooed Moose has got their Good Beer Tuesdays, featuring brews from Thomas Creek Brewery and live music from Mackie and Friends.
WEDNESDAY. Social hosts another installment of their Starving Artists Series, featuring work by Robin McCoy, Austin Norvell, and Glenn Friedel, and Scarlet Poppy and live music from Steam Brothers. It’s free to attend, but you should shell out some money for a piece of work, since the artists are starving, after all.
THURSDAY: The American Cancer Society hosts a Relay for Life Kick-Off Celebration at Boone Hall Plantation.
FRIDAY. Check out this month’s art walk, with openings at M Gallery of Fine Art, SCOOP Studios, Hamlet Fine Art Gallery, COCO VIVO, and more. Or spend your evening at Fort Moultrie as the Tramp Brigade Organization of Historical Interpreters hosts evening candlelight tours.
SATURDAY. Patriots Point is having a free admission weekend. If you read our cover story on the spot in November, you’ve probably been dying to go ever since. The free admission extends through Sunday. Meanwhile, Arthur Brouthers, Nathan Durfee, Chip 7, and other local artists are interpreting the King in an Elvis Presley Art Show.
SUNDAY. With it being a new year and what not, you might want to get a copy of author Avery Caswell's Luck: A Collection of Facts, Fiction, Incantation & Verse. She’ll be signing the book at the Mt. Pleasant Barnes & Noble. It’s also a Second Sunday on King.
