Freeloaders: Forget the rain and do something free

The week's best free events

Monday. Kicking off this week, just like the last, is Redux Art Center’s Double Vision Lecture Series. This week’s presenters are Gwylene Gallimard and Jean-Marie Mauclet and jimihatt.

Tuesday. Dr. Lovegrove gives a free health lecture at Earth Fare.

Wednesday. In Mt. Pleasant saxophonist Louie Dixon and his posse — drummer Paul Walls, guitarist J.R. Getches, and bassist Shawn Beckner — get together and get down as the Louie D. Project to play their mix of funk, soul, beach, and jazz infused rock. You'll have a chance to win a Verizon R2D2 Droid phone at the Star Wars Party

Thursday. The Rebekah Jacob Gallery is hosting Folklore a collaborative exhibit by Timothy Pakron and Ben Hollingsworth. Or get on your bike and tour Cannonborough/Elliotborough during Bike and Browse the Burroughs.

Friday. The French Quarter Art Walk means plenty of art openings (and, hopefully, plenty of wine).

Saturday. See Rudy during the last Movies at Mt. Pleasant Pier.
