MONDAY. Throw on those plaid pants and pompom hats because it’s tee time, and we don’t mean the kind with crumpets. Freshfields Village will be kicking off the PGA Championship Week 2012 on Kiawah with golf contests all week, and a chance to win some free prizes.
TUESDAY. Keep the golf going with Starlight Cinema screenings of Tin Cup and The Legend of Bagger Vance. Not down for the Kiawah commute? Check out some live music on the peninsula. Bryant Newby will be at the Recovery Room, Bill Johnson will be at the Rooftop Bar at Vendue Inn, and Sans Jose and Boring Portals will be kicking it at Tattooed Moose.
WEDNESDAY. Today’s free activities work for all ages. Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park will host Splash Day in the Park with free water slides and jump castles — let’s get real, nobody is too old for a jump castle. The seniors can hear all about arthritis (or non-seniors who just really want to learn up on arthritis) at Let’s Do Health: Arthritis Answers.
THURSDAY. Head back to Kiawah and meet golf pros at Sports Illustrated at the Majors. If you bring your A-game, you might just land a spot on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Then stick around for Concerts by the Lake for music by some tribute bands. Tribute bands aren’t your thing? Donate some flip flops at the School of the Arts Flip Flop Concert, head to the Brick to hear Chris Dodson with Jett Black, or get a Civil War history lesson at Desperate Hours.
SATURDAY. Forget your sunscreen once or twice this summer? Go by MUSC, where they’re offering Free Skin Cancer Screening. Then party the rest of your morning away in style at the Orchid Styling Boutique Celebration. Throw some cucumbers on your eyes, rest up, and go back out for some laid back beach music by Kurly Wolf.
SUNDAY. Round up the kids and pass off their old school supplies at Black Beard’s Cove Back to School. For every school supply, you can keep your golf spirit alive with a free round of mini-golf. Then move that classy body over to Robert Lewis for some jazzy sax, or dance off your muffin top at Acoustic Muffin.
