Freeloaders: A day late and a freebie short

Hey y'all, we had a real Monday yesterday, ya know, the kind where you forget to post Freeloaders. Without further ado, all the good free stuff CHS has to offer, err, six days a week.

Tuesday

If you’re free at 11 a.m., stop by the Johns Island Library to learn about South Carolina slaves who risked everything to become free before 1865.

Stop by the Mount Pleasant farmers market, open from 3:30-7 p.m. Located at 645 Coleman Blvd.

Laugh your pants off at Cutty’s comedy night, starting at 8 p.m.

Wednesday

Head over to Prohibition at 6:30 p.m. to get a free swing dance lesson and practice your moves to the music of a live band.

Stake a spot out in front of the Tides at Folly Beach at 8 p.m. to watch a hit movie under the stars.

Starting at 10 p.m., come by Loggerheads to have some fun and embarrass yourself with karaoke. Located at 123 West Ashley Ave.

Thursday

From 6-8 p.m., cruise to the Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre for live music, food, wine and plenty of family-friendly events.

Jam out at 7 p.m. open mic at Coastal Coffee Roasters.

Head to the Addlestone Library at 7 p.m. for a screening of the compelling documentary Racing Extinction.

Get your bluegrass on at The Mill at 10 p.m. Located on E. Montague Ave.

Friday

Sweat some stress out with X Running, a strength running group. Meets at 5 p.m. at Charleston Group Fitness on Queensborough Blvd.

Feeling moody? Enjoy the dark, foggy dance floor at The Tin Roof’s Goth Night, starting at 9 p.m.

Bike to the corner of St. Philip and Calhoun from 5-7:30 p.m. to receive a free set of bike lights.

Dance to a DJ at The Green Room at 9 p.m.

Saturday

A local classic, the Charleston farmers market will be open in Marion Square from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Give back by cleaning up litter from local parks and beaches. Volunteers meet at The Tides at 9 a.m.

Head to Fabulon Center for Art and Education from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. for a cool, vintage pop-up market.

Sunday

If you’re a morning person, stop by Holy Cow Yoga Center from 7:45-9:45 a.m. for a half-hour meditation session.

Check out the North Mt. Pleasant farmers market on N. Hwy. 17, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Soak in some blues at the open mic jam session at Smokey’s Place Sports Bar and Grill, at 5 p.m.
