What’s more American than eating apple pie and watching baseball? Huge weapons and explosions, that’s what. You can get a lot of both at this year’s Patriot’s Point July 4th Blast. Take advantage of the rare opportunity to enjoy the holiday on a World War II aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Yorktown. At 4 p.m., the Blast will kick into gear with a food court, beer garden, and “KidZone.” As night approaches, head over to the main stage for a performance by the East Coast Party Band. All of the action of the day culminates with a 9:30 p.m. fireworks show. Launched right from the deck of a battle-tested aircraft carrier, the fireworks will light up the Cooper River Bridge and the entire Charleston Harbor.
