Weekends in Charleston always offer great things to do, but they don't always offer you the chance to do great things. This weekend, out on Goldbug Island, the 4th Annual Flip Flop Ball is offering you the chance to participate in a fun nighttime event while also helping out kids in need.
The "ball" (if you haven't guessed, this is a tongue-in-cheek description) is a casual fund-raiser benefiting WINGS for kids, a charity that focuses on after-school care for children of lower-income families by providing them with a nurturing environment and a place to succeed.
At the fund-raiser you can expect a pig roast by Charleston Bay Gourmet, live music from Two 3 Ways and Kim Lhuillier & Tom Dittrich, and an open bar and kegs. So as they say, "No ties, no heels, no worries." You must be 21 or over to attend. —Allie Rice
