There’s something relaxing about shucking oysters next to a marsh. They taste fresher, brinier, better. And at Fleet Landing’s Fleet Fest, you’ll be mere steps from the Charleston Harbor. Of course, Fleet Landing will be serving up the bivalves ($10 a bucket), but they’ll also have barbecue sliders, kid-friendly eats, and plenty of brews. “We’ve been around for almost 10 years now, and it was time for us to think outside the box,” says Marc McLeod, Fleet’s manager. “As a thank you to customers who have been loyal to us all these years and invite some new faces out, we wanted to do something fun and a little different.” The event is pet friendly, so Fido can come too. Plane Jane will perform some tunes, and we’ve been told there’s going to be a mechanical bull.
