Gina Perez finally quit working as a fisheries biologist and became a full-time farmer two years ago. Small beginnings with her plot at Dirt Works have now blossomed into selling wholesale at Limehouse and GrowFood Carolina as well as retaining a booth at the Sunday Brunch Farmers Market in Riverland Terrace. After a rough spring of losing 800 pumpkins, Fiddle Farm now has oodles of squash, spinach, okra, green peppers, arugula, cauliflower, and zucchini for the fall. Fiddle Farms uses integrated organic weed, pest, and disease management along with an organic approach to fertility and nutrient management. Perez also now has a weekly CSA for veggies and flowers at Sundrops Montessori.
