Leave the cooking for Christmas day and let a chef fill your bellies Christmas Eve at a Feast of the Seven Fishes. The traditional Italian Christmas Eve meal features various seafood dishes, and two local restaurants are doing it up right for the holiday. Over at Mercato, Chef Eddie Moran offers various choices for three courses. For antipasti, you could try the lobster bisque or the mussels Genovese. Second course is pasta and risotto — try either the linguine scampi, housemade potato gnocchi, or lobster risotto. Then for Secondi, choices include “Frutti di Mare” (local flounder, mussels, clams, and calamari poached in a saffron infused broth) or the pan-seared scallops with butternut squash, Brussels sprout leaves, porcini mushrooms, and saba.
