Goodwill is the go-to hipster haven. Hand-me-downs are totally retro, and Goodwill has some freaky fashions to keep you looking one-of-a-kind. The Goodwill locations over in Mt. Pleasant always have super nice stuff for super cheap, and the best part is they color-coordinate. So, if you're looking for that little black dress, you don't have to sort through 500 racks. Just go straight to the color of your choice. The price tags on some of these barely-worn clothes will boggle your mind, especially their assortment of pea coats and oversized sweaters, almost all under $5 a pop. Thrifting heaven, for reals.
Reinvented Upscale Resale
847 Savannah Hwy.
With their cutesy motto, "If it's not becoming to you, it should be coming to us," this upscale resale boutique is obviously looking for you to bring those clothes that just don't fit right anymore into their store. This store opts more for designer goods, which will bring you the most profit and fit in nicely with the name brand items already in the store. Rather than getting a handful of cash, your goods will stay in the store until they are sold. That's when you'll receive 40 percent of the selling price in the form of a check. But don't just go to sell. If you're on the hunt for some nice pieces to add to your clothing collection, shop around a bit.

If you're moving from home into a dorm room, chances are you're going to have to downsize. Instead of throwing away all your threads or leaving them behind to sit and collect dust, head over to Uptown Cheapskate in Mt. Pleasant, which will buy your gently worn name brands in exchange for some cold hard cash. While you're there, check out the clothes they have in stock. The store gets a lot of good quality stuff, which they post on their website for you to check out before you go. Recent designer wear in stock included Michael Kors and Nine West bags, Lilly Pulitzer and American Apparel dresses, and Costa sunglasses. It's definitely a must-sift.
