The Southern Artists Celebratory Series celebrates native Charlestonian Heyward's contributions to Porgy and Bess and his role in the Southern literary renaissance of the early 1900s with performances from Porgy and Bess, dramatic readings, and panel discussion with College of Charleston archivist Harlan Greene, novelist Dorothea Benton Frank, and Heyward biographer James Hutchisson.
