Dockside chow for Ashley River boaters at Dolphin Cove

Dolphin Cove Cafe reopens

Pulling up dockside to a bar on Shem Creek or the Crab House at Wappoo Cut is so yesterday. Now boaters on the Ashley River can once again stop in at the Dolphin Cove.

The new and improved Dolphin Cove Café is located river-side at the Dolphin Cove Marina located in the northern reaches of the peninsula (read: up past the strip clubs). They're bringing in fresh local seafood daily, and boaters can get curbside service if they pull up to the dock. All you have to do is call in your order — (843) 744-3636.

The weekends at the Cove are slated to be packed with live music — R&B on Fridays, jazz on Saturdays, and reggae on Sundays. Shag parties, poetry nights, comedy shows, and karaoke are also in the works.

Happy hour is from 4-7 p.m. daily with $2.50 house cocktails, $1.50 domestic beers, and half-off all menu items (excluding jumbo shrimp, dips, and fries). Sounds like it might be a perfect place to start your night off right. —Nick Rosser
