Even with the arrival of high-end dining on Johns Island over the last several years, there's still been a lack of quick-and-easy lunch spots. Although the Daily Dose's reputation at its old location on James Island was hardly "quick," owner Duffy "Mama D" Ingle aims to change that with refocused energy and hours at her healthy wrap-and-sandwich shop's new location, tucked behind Ace Hardware. Vegetarians rejoice over classics like the Sloppy Jane and the monster Muthaship, a four-pound veggie burrito that could induce comas in a post-Phish show parking lot. It's a bit of a haul to get out there for a quesadilla, salad, or wrap, but the tiki bar, fresh produce, and good vibes are all just like Mama D left 'em on James Island. —Stratton Lawrence, Dish (Summer 2012)
