If you're hankering for a taste of New Orleans, look no further than The Crescent Connection, perhaps the best little Mardi Gras party to ever grace the town. Despite being tucked way up in North Chuck, a regular crowd of devoted eaters packs the place looking for a taste of fried catfish, a big bowl of gumbo, or the creative Crawfish Tchoupitoulas — "sweet crawfish tails via étoufée served with crawfish potato salad stuffed inside a seasonal fish of the day, topped with a soft-shell flying crawfish." Chef Iran Coleman mans the front of the room as well as the stove, with a big string of beads around his neck and a plethora of "specials" that seem to outnumber the regular menu items. Drop in for a Blackened Voodoo and a bowl of okra, and you'll leave a happy Cajun. —Jeff Allen, Dish (Winter 2010)
