Santa and his elves work year-round to put a smile on folks’ faces come Christmas, but the staff of Jack of Cups Saloon isn’t waiting until December to start spreading the cheer. To bring the most wonderful time of the year to summer, Jack of Cups will be hosting a Christmas in July Party on Friday. The saloon will adorn their backyard in festive decorations like mistletoe, a giant plastic Santa, string lights, and more. And everyone’s encouraged to come wearing their Christmas best. The night will start off with some popoki bingo. Popoki is Hawaiian for “cat,” and in this game of bingo a different breed of feline is the star of each round. Following the games, the band Silver Bells will bring joy to the beach bar with original holiday tunes and yuletide favorites. Food and drink specials for the night will include holiday punch, cookie clusters, and red and green drinks with an island twist. “Normally, folks spend Christmas with their families, and so many times, unless it’s a party before or after the holiday, you miss out on time with your friends. This is the time to celebrate, and enjoy your ‘friend family’ in a super laid-back but festive atmosphere,” says Lesley Carroll, Jack of Cups’ owner.
