Charlie Louvin and the Romwebers got the spirit

The country legend and the rock duo share the Pour House stage

Alabama-born and Tennessee-based Charlie Louvin — a country music Hall of Famer best known for his harmonies in vintage gospel act The Louvin Brothers — teamed up with N.C. rockabilly/roots act The Dex Romweber Duo — featuring singer/guitarist Dexter Romweber (formerly of The Flat Duo Jets) and drummer Sara Romweber (formerly of Let's Active, Snatches of Pink). They kick off a three-week tour of the Southeast, and they share the stage at the Pour House on Wed. Nov. 11 at 9 p.m.

After a lengthy hiatus, Louvin, now 82, started writing and recording in recent years. His latest collections are Ships to Heaven and Sings Murder Ballads and Disaster Songs (featuring some deep Louvin Brothers classics), released this year on the Tompkins Square label. The Romwebers formed their act in 2006. Their latest album is Ruins of Berlin, released last February on the Bloodshot Records label.

Tickets are available for $12. Visit ruraltone.com/dex and myspace.com/officialcharlielouvin for more.
