A locally grown cucumber becomes a locally made pickle that gets stocked and sold by local grocery stores like Queen Street Grocery, Burbage's, the Folly Trading Post, Sweet Gourmet, Moon Pie General Store, and the Five and Ten. They recently expanded their partnership with Piggly Wiggly, going from 15 stores to over 50 in and out of state. It's the stuff of Lowcountry Local First's dreams. The Charleston Pickle Company is also carried by local restaurants like the Fat Hen, Art's Bar and Grill, Vendue Inn, the Sprout, and Brick House Kitchen. You can also find them at the RiverDogs stadium this spring and summer for what is becoming a highly sought after game-time treat in Charleston — the deliciously unique pickle dog. —Stephanie Barna
