If upscale is how you want to welcome 2013, we hope you’ve got tickets to the Rose Ball. This collaborative effort between IceBox Bar and Charleston After Dark has all the NYE blowout essentials including musical performances, hors d’oeuvres, bar service, and even rooftop views of the city. The party will offer some less typical entertainment as well. “I like to have a lot of different things going on,” says Charleston After Dark’s owner, Camille Key. “There’s going to be larger-than-life art projections on the bleachers … We’re going all out for it.” This is the first New Year’s party for the venue, which has both indoor and outdoor space for the guests. Key predicts that there will be around 1,200 revelers. “People are coming from all over the Southeast. It’s a great time to attract a lot of people to Charleston.” The Rose Ball will not only be a fashionable party, but it’s supporting a good cause: a portion of the proceeds will go to the Tanzanian Education Foundation.
