The seventh installment of Charleston Restaurant Week is quickly approaching and you can hear the stomachs rumbling in anticipation all over town. With over 100 eateries participating this month, the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association is excited to be growing at such a quick pace in only three years. GCRA’s marketing consultant, Kaili Howard, explains that the goal for Restaurant Week is continued expansion but also giving locals an incentive to dine out during a slower time of the year. Two hotel companies (Charlestowne Hotels and Charming Inns) are cutting prices for patrons across the city during this week as well, a move which means Restaurant Week’s evolving into more of an event instead of just a night out. “The hotel deals allow people from other markets to visit and plan mini-vacations around the week,” says Howard. “It is becoming more than just going out one or two nights for a deal, but seeing what a restaurant can do with three courses.” Find the participating locations and menus on the GCRA website.
