Hordes of fine art fans flock to Broad Street every November, when the Charleston Fine Art Dealers’ Association (CFADA) hosts the Charleston Fine Art Annual. The series of events highlights Charleston’s fine artists, attracting locals and visitors to the city’s gallery district.
Things kick off on Nov. 3 with a three-part Women in Art lecture series at the Gibbes. Then Friday evening sees the biggest Art Walk of the year, in which downtown galleries take the opportunity to show off their most talented artists. On Saturday morning, local artists will paint and high school artists will display their works in Washington Park; their creations will later be auctioned off. Later that evening, the Charleston Art Auction will take place at the Renaissance Charleston Hotel. Proceeds from the weekend benefit art programs at Charleston County high schools. —Erica Jackson
