Charleston Fine Art Annual hosts Art Stroll Friday 

Peek at art, meet the artists

We’re coming up on the first Friday of the month, not to mention a little event called the Charleston Fine Art Annual. Know what that means? Art openings. Lots of ’em. Head down to the French Quarter on Friday from 5-8 p.m. for some free, artsy fun.

Let’s start with Broad Street. Scoop Studios presents a solo show with Ben Timpson, featuring handcrafted light boxes that preserve as well as display his 1”x2” slides, new original oil paintings, and reproductions of his art. At Ann Long, check out drawings from Ben Long, and at Ella Walton Richardson Gallery, see works from Russian artists Aleksander and Lyuba Titovets. The Wells Gallery will have work from four local artists: Kevin LePrince, Laurie Meyer, Rick Reinert, and Sue Stewart.

Over on Queen Street, Amy Lind presents a series of Profile paintings at Robert Lange’s new studio. Helena Fox Fine Art will have paintings inspired by the Maritime Muses. Corrigan Gallery presents Blue, featuring work from many gallery regulars.

Over on Hasell Street, Charleston Crafts hosts their grand re-opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Joe Riley at 5:15 p.m. Enjoy refreshments, cello music by Joshua Miller, drawings for handcrafted items, and an opportunity to meet the artists.
