Charleston must be gunning for some kind of craft beer record. It seems like every time we turn around there’s a new brewery, or craft beer-only bar, or plans for a new beer garden. This weekend, get in on the craft beer craze at Brittlebank Park, which will host a full day of tastings, music, and educational opportunities. The event will feature dozens of craft beers for attendees to sample (or chug if you prefer) as well as other fun activities like a Beer Olympics, a chance to learn about Earth Fare’s beer school, and a village of home brewers ready to talk about their trade. “For anyone who loves craft beer, this is the opportunity to really get to appreciate it in a beautiful setting,” says Hilary Johnson, Charleston Beer Garden’s director. “It’s a nice way to kick back and relax with friends, while enjoying craft beer without hassle.” Your ticket gets you five beer samples or one stein fill, depending on what you prefer, with each additional sample available for $1. Five musical acts will perform at the festival, including Will Hastings, Jordan Igoe, Wadata, The Royal Tinfoil, and A Thousand Horses.
