It’s that time of year again. No, not March Madness. Something better. Time to recognize the world’s favorite sport by supporting our Charleston Battery. After finishing second in the Carolina Cup Challenge not long ago, the team’s season opener against the Charlotte Eagles promises to be an exciting match. There will be both familiar and new faces on the field Saturday. Veteran midfielder Stephen Armstrong has returned for his sixth season with the Battery, taking on the role as assistant coach alongside his responsibilities as a player. Three new promising players have also been added to the roster: goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra, defender Graham Dugoni, and forward Seedy Bah. The Battery will be playing in the American Division alongside the Eagles, the Richmond Kickers, Orlando City, and the Wilmington Hammerheads. Come support your favorite Battery players and check out the new guys as they come together to bring us another exciting season.
