Charleston Art Tours offers guided strolls

Educational Art Walking

Ghost tours and smelly carriage tours aren’t the only game in town these days. Artists Martha Sharp and Karen Hagan recently founded Charleston Art Tours, which take tourists and locals on an educational journey through the city’s art galleries. For $45, guests, in groups of eight or less, will be led through galleries and given background information on the artists, including their influences, connections with the community, and other details a casual art walker might miss. Occasionally guests might even get to meet the artist or peek in their studio. Other options include painting demos and classes as well as more festive, wine-fueled tours. Tours are Tues.-Sat. at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. All tours begin at 53 Broad St. See or call (843) 860-3327 for more info.
