Chamber Music Charleston

What is it? Local chamber music stalwarts present a balanced program sure to please the discerning listener.

Why see it? Chamber Music Charleston's mission to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation among seasoned classical music listeners, and the all-important development of new listeners for classical music through educational programs, has brought together many of the finest locally based musicians to create a very special meeting of musical minds. This program includes Francaix's Divertissement for Bassoon and String Quintet, Dvorák's String Quintet in G, and most interestingly, an original adaptation of Margot Raven's Circle Unbroken set to the music of William Grant Still.

Who should go? This group's mission includes everyone, so there will be something for both the egg-headiest of long hairs to the classical neophyte.

PICCOLO SPOLETO • $10 • 1 hour 15 min. • June 5 at 6 p.m. • New Tabernacle Fourth Baptist Church, 22 Elizabeth St. • (888) 374-2656
