Friends, family, and colleagues of late musician Cecilla Brown will come together on Fri. Oct. 8 at the Chart in Park Circle (1078 E. Montague Ave.) for a special memorial and benefit show.
Brown died in Summerville on Aug. 29. She was 33 years old. An Army veteran who grew up in Florida and Alabama, Brown was best known in Charleston as a guitarist and singer/songwriter. She performed solo and with Bring Out Your Dead (a.k.a. B.O.Y.D.), as well as wit many other acts around the Charleston area.
The event on Oct. 8 will feature live music from local rock bands Stained Glass Wall and Shades of Plenty, plus a collaborative set from Friends of the Family (comprised of Brown's musician buddies). The event starts at 8 p.m. Artwork by local artist Sharen Mitchell will be on hand and available by raffle contest.
